Twenty people went to a party. At the party was a basket filled with twenty apples. At the end of the party, each person took one apple, yet there was still one apple left in the basket.

The last person did not take the apple out of the basket; he simply took the basket, with the apple in it. Thus, the basket still contained one apple.
