About The Maine Page
|
The Maine Page is the oldest page on The Problem Site. In fact, the Maine Page existed even before The Problem Site was created. This problem page was first hosted at the Virtu Software Problem Of The Week (POW) page.
After The Maine Page had lived there for about a year, The Problem Site was created specifically for the purpose of hosting Problems Of The Week, and Problems Of The Month. Over time, the site grew to contain much more: many educational games (including both math games and word games), a Treasure Hunt, strategy games, and other resources.
Meanwhile, The Maine Page switched moderators; Doug Twitchell relinquished responsibility for the page into the hands of a very bright young student from Maine named Sasha Joseph.
After taking a break for a couple years, Sasha returns to The Maine Page for the 2006-2007 school year, helping Maine students prepare for the MAML (Maine Association of Math Leagues) math competitions.

I competed in the Maine Association of Math Leagues from 2000 until 2003. I'm currently a math major at Amherst College. A new problem will be posted every week. |
