The Quadrilateral Calculator
If you are building wall openings with beveled edges, you can use the quadrilateral calculator to build the frame of the opening. Instructions for using this calculator can be found here: Beveled Wall Opening Tutorial.
In a nutshell, you place all the vertices of your inner and outer wall openings into an (x, y, z) coordinate space, and then enter the vertices of each quadrilateral into the calculator above. This provides measurements of the side lengths and diagonal lengths. These can be used (along with a ruler and a compass) to locate the vertices of the quadrilaterals.
With patience, complex shapes can be created and incorporated into your paper crafts.
