Paper Craft: Tutorials: Textures
Some paper crafts will look more attractive with a bit of texture added. This can be done simply by painting a texture (or printing, if you have graphics software and a printer), but if you want a real three-dimensional effect, you may need to do a little bit more work. Here are some sample textures.
Stone and Brick Texture: Creating a brick or stone texture can be a time consuming process, but it's more effective than simply printing a texture, since a printed texture wil appear correct only if lit from the proper direction (otherwise, the shadows will appear in the wrong places).
Wood Siding Texture: Quicker to accomplish than the stone texture, since it doesn't require as many pieces. It's easy to create many different styles simply by using different color paints when painting the wood grain.
