Though there weren't many solutions posted, the people who tried this one seemed to enjoy puzzling over it, so I think I'll try doing a few more like this in the coming months. The answer is ENVELOPE.
SHOVE = PUSH (push the envelope)
STOMP = STAMP (which you put on an envelope)
BEAT = LICK (which you do to seal the envelope)
GORGE = STUFF (to fill envelopes)
