Heroic Couplets
A heroic couplet is a pair of rhyming lines written in iambic pentameter. An example of a heroic couplet is shown below.Ouch!
A toothache is an awful, horrid pain,
So let us thank the Lord for Novocain.

Heroic couplets are a nice way to bring a poem to a dramatic conclusion. Elizabethan Sonnets end with a heroic couplet.
