Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction
The following is a piece of writing submitted by Bronwyn Wright on October 27, 2010
What Tomorrow Will Bring
Each noteBeautifully written.
The whole notes
of their four beats
in steady succession.
The half notes
In their partnership;
their close relation.
The quarter notes
set apart
forming no sort of equation.
The eighth note gaining speed
and gaining suspension.
The notes in the middle:
not really sure
why they are
a cruel source of tension.
Each note
written beautifully
and in an eloquent fashion.
The succession and relation
do create a great equation
gaining a suspension and a tension
until they come to a sudden stop.
The repetition is impending.
We see the notes
and we sing.
We sing and we wonder
what tomorrow will bring.
