"This post is a Grab Bag which uses the following words: outdid, long johns"
Cheat
A sappy winter-watered branchoutdid my lighter on the wood.
Long johns stuffed in Army pants
a hatchet, and a hood.
I thought it'd once be easy to live
outside amongst the wild, but I'm
fat and slow and brittle-boned. I've had
no feeling for a while.
Fingered gloves of cotton,
Rusty nails and rotten wood,
Dug a fire pit too thin
I'd build a structure if I could.
I thought it'd once be fun to sleep
inside a self-made hut.
but my arms are weak,
my gloves are torn, my hammer's
proved a useless feat.
I thought it'd once be easy to live outside the house,
the cheat, but it's not and now I give up,
go inside, turn on the heat.
