Mighty Pen

I have a pen that waits for me
there on the desk, in the pot
so small, but its call is large
to pick it up and jot

And right before my eyes
through letter, word and phrase
a story, poem or masterpiece
worthy of such praise

The writing evolves before us
a life of its own it assumes
The world, pen and I create
eclipses the real and consumes

And when we are finished we sit
and relive the moments again
for the two of us, will always be
together, Our literary domain
