Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction

Breathe
When I fall, I breathe, and get back up.When someone says something rude, I breathe, and keep on walking.
When I don’t feel like I can take it anymore, I breathe, and keep on pushing myself.
When I haven’t heard or felt love in so long, I breathe, and try to love myself.
When something important in my life comes crashing down, I breathe, and I keep the tears inside.
When I lose somebody I love, I breathe, and watch them from afar.
When I feel like I might just let it out, I breathe, and sew my lips closed.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Count to ten.
Breathe.
But what happens when I don’t want to breathe anymore?
