Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction
On School Administration
They kill our developing imaginationswith tick marks and surveys
and classifications of who we are
or who they would rather we be
--not who we were born to be--
some diluted image of ourselves
photoshopped by our predecessors.
We are an army of pupper corpses
breathing because we are told
that we must breathe.
Each gasp of air is painless
only because they tell us
it is so. They let us live only
because we must
be like them.
