Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction
The following is a piece of writing submitted by InfinPotent on May 11, 2011
I...
I...… wanted to see you today... up on stage, performing...
… arrived, on time... sort of.
… sat, watched, waited in the second row from the front.
… laughed, a brilliant performance.
… grew impatient. You were no where to be found.
… had not seen you... on stage or in the crowd.
… texted.
… called... no response.
… become angry... sad.
… saw 10 minutes become 30 in no time.
… hadn't seen you... heard from you... as time approached for me to leave.
… sitting, I learned I came not just for you, to see you, but also for me. I came to enjoy myself.
… enjoyed the show, laughing.
… left, 30 minutes till my next meeting.
… had not seen you.
… got on the bus, down the street and at another station
… heard a man singing with a beautiful voice, songs of love.
… stopped, smiled, and remembered my promise.
… I love you unconditionally, unfailingly, joyfully, because...
… we are man in the likeness of God. All things happen to test our trust in God, ourselves, our relationship.
… knew we weren't destined to meet tonight.
… knew that it was alright.
… smiled.
… thanked God for the opportunity to face my fears, my resentment and bitterness.
… thanked God to face it for what it was... past.
… thank you.
