Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction
The following is a piece of writing submitted by lostcerebellum on July 11, 2008
"After hearing that a friend had died in a motorcycle accident, I was just sitting in the living room, bummed out, and strumming my guitar. One tune I happened to be playing was a melancholy one that I had written earlier, but had never put words to. These lyrics came as I was playing it and thinking about him that day.

How Can It Be?
How can it be, God has taken you from me?I know, where you are, you are better off by far,
But still, here below, it’s so hard to let go;
One minute you’re here, and then you’re gone.
It’s like there’s a hole that goes through my heart and my soul,
And yet, through it all, I’m glad I had a chance to love you at all.
