"Someone on the radio was talking about how the world has changed and referred to a song by the British group, The Kinks, which stated that there’s no England anymore. The title of that song, “Living on a Thin Line”, got me thinking, and this poem is the result. "
Living on a Thin Line
We’re walking on a thin line, twixt the future and the past. And on that line is all we do that we may hope will last.
We’re living on a thin line. It’s not like we have a choice.
But how we live there will give cause to mourn or to rejoice.
There’s no escaping from that line, we’ll walk it anyway,
And so the question that we face is, how to spend today.
