Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction
The following is a piece of writing submitted by Aimster du Clarkentine on September 10, 2008
"I wrote this in frustration with the fact that as humans, no one is perfect. Placing people on pedestals only makes their fall harder to bear. We dislike problems we see with people, but conversely, if a person seems faultless (an illusion), we despise them. "
Illusion
Perfectionis an illusion.
No human is a bastion
of only goodness,
spotlessness.
Every rose has its thorn.
Why is it we scorn
Imperfection,
yet equally its
antithesis?
