I'm Sorry

Sorry can be the hardest word to say
but not to say it makes you feel so bad
we take for granted those we see each day

the joys we share,forgotten, feeling mad
emotions of the moment take their place
but ultimately only make you sad

silent tears are streaming down your face
the words you want to say are locked inside
and all you want to find is your own space

to retreat to a place where you can hide
but thoughts of costs that you will have to pay
these selfish feelings quickly override

the need to reconcile,not to betray
not black or white but always shades of grey
