Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction
Mother's Day
What would it take for all mothers to strike?A mountain of clothes to wash and to iron?
A sink full of dishes piled up so high
which takes forever to wash and to dry
What would it take for all mothers to strike?
Babies and children from one up to ten
constantly fighting, can never agree
drinks dropped at supper, cake throwing at tea
What would it take for all mothers to strike?
crying and tantrums and screams on the floor
head lice and homework and first days at school
shouting, door slamming and breaking of rules
What would it take for all mothers to strike?
No trouble or struggle throughout the land
would make all mothers abandon their brood
love for their children as vital as food
