The arsonist

To start a fire when the weather is hot
For the fun of the flames, to care not a jot
When a spark would ignite grass tinder dry
seeing the fire spiral high reaching the sky

onward so fast across woodland and brush
birds and small creatures escape in a rush
or fire consumes in the blink of an eye
and all in its path must perish and die
