Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction
At the Beach
In childhood visits to the beach were funA special day to treasure as a treat
with cousins playing in the foamy waves
and picnic lunches, sandy food to eat
With children of my own, the magic stays
to watch them build sandcastles on the shore
and hear their laughter as they jump the waves
with sun and sea, we could not ask for more
now older ,still the salty tang of sea
and watching waves that crash upon the land
the feeling of the sun upon bare skin
the vastness of the sea and dunes of sand
will cast a net of summer memories
across the golden years our lives have spanned
