Advent Themes - Part Four

Life is like a circle, embracing all
cocooned as an infant we will not fall
some of us are lucky, shielded by love
aided by faith in our great lord above

but what of the others born into fear
who struggle with hunger, year after year
whose children die young in lands without rain
or suffer the horrors of war and pain

At Christmas a time of hope and great joy
with presents all wrapped for each girl and boy
families gather for feasting and fun
love fills the houses of everyone

but what of the others,homeless and cold
or alone, feeling sad, in pain and old
refugees, travel so cold, in the night
seeking a future, not darkness, but light.

Life is a circle that can let us fall
a blanket of love should include us all
