First Line Writing Prompt

The day grandfather's car broke down was an important day for both of us.
He had lovingly nurtured his car for nigh on thirty years, and this was his moment of realization that it had finally reached the point that no ongoing repairs would make it roadworthy again. We walked the five miles into town and grandfather turned to me and said " It's time for you to have your own car Jake. I'm too old to be driving you around. You've passed your test, so we'll go into the garage now and you can choose your first car and drive us home."
