Paraded out on one day of the year
to tell the world if Spring is nearly here
decision made by if my shadow shows
world light extinguished as the darkness grows
as policies are spewed out on a whim
belief in me can never seem as grim
we all must hope that winter dark will go
and life will Spring anew as new shoots grow
