The Shadow Of A Man
The Shadow Of A ManHis shadow is as black as coal,
Following him where he walks,
Never letting him forget.
Never letting him escape.
Day: It grows long and thin
It's size an ever-present reminder.
He stays in shady places,
Places where it would go unnoticed,
Expected even.
After all, It
Was created in those places.
As day drags on:
It grows even longer and broader,
He becomes increasingly alarmed,
It's eventually too large to handle,
He is frightened, regretful.
Nighttime: It consumes him,
His body trembles as it enters him,
Making him bleed inside,
Tears spill from his eyes,
Landing with a splash.
Not so funny now that they're yours are they?
Day breaks and his body lies
Limp and lifeless,
Ruby red seeping into his clothes,
His favourite knife slack in his grip.
A/N: Who can guess what this is about?
