"I can't help still being inspired by trees. They're majestic, bold and fragile at the same time"
National Poetry Writing Month - Week Two- Being a tree
My limbs are crampedfrom the biting cold
My branches feel brittle
and my bones feel old
But the blackbird is singing
and so is the finch
they say warmth comes to cover
my every inch
My fingers are tingling
a surge that wants out
and soon I'll be clad
in a sheltering cloud
where birds seek refuge
and make home in my crown
their chattering songs
shine like sparks on my gown
