Drifting Snow
Do you hear that?That sound, the cold wind howling.
Like the chilled wolf in the night.
Like the fire that's lowly growling.
Do you feel that?
Simply the bite of the frost.
The cool breath of winter.
The heat that has been lost.
Do you see that?
The falling flakes of white.
The hardened crystals of water.
Hidden in the night.
Do you smell that?
The sharp crisp air.
The scent of the smoke.
Of the snow, oh so rare.
Do you taste that?
The snowflake on your tongue.
The hot chocolate in the pot.
And the words that you've sung.
Do you?
