"Just a snippet of a human moment"
tea and SympathyUntitled
Tea and Sympathy. From the cafeteria window, cars could be seen departing the hospital car park, driving away from a multitude of maladies. The huge window pane was spattered with rain drops, tiny beads of water were slipping slowly down the glass towards oblivion on the window frame. The murmur of human voices and the homely rattle of tea cups sounded hollow. Placing the cup carefully in its saucer, Jenny leaning forward spoke,
‘The doctor told you it was merely a routine examination’, she said reaching out for her sisters hand.
Snatching her hand away, ‘They always say that’ her sister blazed, ‘I’m afraid, can’t think of anything else, nothing you say can comfort me’, her voice wavered.
Jenny rose, bending forward she hugged her sister and felt her tremble. She could see the heavy rain now running down the window, flowing like her own tears.
