I rendered my invisible neighbour my guardian angel, guitar-plucking his sound. He played late at night, early in the morning, notes of auburn down, filtered through my insulated roof. I sang along once, not meaning reproof.He realized I listened, and his continued silence was for his existence, the only proof.
