The Oak
O’er there stands the great oak tree, covering the skyI welcome with open arms the day that it shall die
The thickness of its trunk denies the sharpest blade
And the once-plush grassland beneath suffocates from its shade
It steals the nutrients from the Earth with cruel voracity
Always refusing to stop before reaching full capacity
And, thus, it proudly extends its branches, ignoring every plight
Engulfing everything in sight, it’s really quite a blight
Yes, yes, the oak, it does not a shred of good
If only I could destroy it now, certainly I would
