New Dawn

The first ray of light wakes and peeks over the horizon-
it beckons to the sun.

The sun rises, a glorious sphere of fire
which filters the darkness and paints the sky with an orange-red glow.

A fireworks display splashed a kaleidoscope of colour across the earth
to the accompaniment of a thousand birds.

The earth sighs and slowly pulls of its blanket of darkness.
It is a new day.
