Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction
The following is a piece of writing submitted by Boy on October 19, 2009
"I decided to rewrite the poem Sesquipadalianism by Lostcerbellum in simple words. It's probably got a mistake in every line."
Sesquipadalianism (Users Guide)
Obsequious, a fancy word, isn't used much and soThen when it is, it's probably to show off what you know.
A copyist using many words, and awful understanding
Strives to put the point across through talking- it's quite maddening.
To express oneself when using speech, especially, as an adult
Doesn't seem to match up to writing at the end result.
Our language is a tool- intended, surely, to be used,
But not to make the reader feel baffled and confused.
Continual repetition with, again, too many words
Suggests false knowledge and also keeps you sounding like a nerd.
Don’t babble on continuously- with 20 words or less
Explain your point with clearness, and save yourself some stress.
