The Wisdom Of Fruit
warring between the optionsof eating or taking my medication
browsing through the want ads
for a position full time or part
growling with an inner hunger for worth
but hampered...
by a jobless nature
and a low self-esteem
i reach for the banana
that is to be my dinner
and methodically peel it
chanting as each yellow strip is undone
they'll hire me
they'll hire me not
they'll hire me
ah, i now must have a change of heart!!!
