Getting Rid Of A Lousy Employee
"I have some bad news," I said.My son looked at me with concern. "Let me sit down," he said.
He sat down, and I sat down across from him. "Tell me," he said.
I sighed. "I got fired from my job."
"WHAT?" he exclaimed.
"Yeah. My boss got fed up with me."
He stared at me. "Mom, you're self employed."
I nodded. "Yep. But I've had it. No more. Anyway, I'm pretty happy about the whole thing. I was a lousy employee, and I'm glad to get rid of myself. So, to celebrate, I'm going on a cruise in the Mediterranean."
He was still staring at me. "What about me?" he said.
I handed him a stack of papers.
"What's this?"
I smiled. "Job applications. Someone has to support this family."
I headed upstairs to pack my bags.
