The Lamp
Laura had no idea what surprises awaited her when she began to polish the antique lamp she found on the beach. But faith directed her on this path. It was inevitable, and only when she polishes the lamp in smooth, circular motions does her world flip upside down.
The lamp breaks free of her grip. Down, down, down. Laura stares at the lamp with widened eyes. Her jaw drops.
Just before the lamp hits the ground, a video flashes in her mind. One where she sits in history, biting the end of her pencil. Greek Mythology. Pandora opened a box, bad stuff happened, and the rest is history.
She never meant to drop the lamp, nor retrieve it from the deserted beach. Never did she expect the slightest repeat of history -especially a legend, most likely untrue.
But history repeats itself.
Each time gorier than the last.
