Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction

The following is a piece of writing submitted by Angela on October 18, 2007
"Author was inspired when she had a conversation about the plural of moose being meese. Unfortunately, I did not finish writing this one in under 15 minutes T.T Ah well."
The Plural of Moose
Plurals are odd thingsAgreed me and my friend.
It's all quite confusing
From beginning to end.
The plural of "goose"
We all know is "geese"
But the plural of "moose"
We don't say "meese"
And the plural of "mouse"?
Why of course it's "mice".
But what of the word "house"?
People don't say, "two hice"
And the plural of "tooth"
Of course we know it's "teeth"
But with the word "booth"
You don't say, "I'd like two beeth"
And what about "foot"?
Well, most of us have 2 feet.
But what about a boot?
We don't wear 2 beet.
And if the plural of "man"
Is of couse, "men"
But with the word "pan"
We know the plural isn't "pen"
And if you have more than 1 brother
We say," Your brethren"
But if there's more than 1 mother
We don't say "methren"
And if we have a box
The plural is "boxes"
But what about an ox
We don't say "oxes"
Plurals are odd things
But we all need them.
Why, without them, for one,
You wouldn't have this poem.
