Going Away for a Vacation
Each summer I spend most of July and August traveling around the state of Maine as a camp pastor. My job is to teach Bible lessons to children and teenagers each day. It's an enjoyable way to spend my summer, but by the time camping season is over, I'm usually pretty tired, and ready to be done. When I returned home in mid-August this summer, people at my church asked me which camp I was going to next. My answer was, "None! I'm on vacation now!"
To which everyone replied, "Oh, where are you going for your vacation?"
Going? I wasn't going anywhere! After nearly two months away, just being at home was all the vacation I wanted!
Someday, though, I would like to do this for a vacation: I would like to just drop everything for a few months and travel around the country. I would climb at least one mountain in every state, and I would write a book about the experience.
Which is, of course, how I would pay for my vacation, so I expect you all to buy a copy.
Thank you for your support.
