Jam Session

I discovered long ago that if you put your fingers on the fourth fret of the D and B strings of a guitar, the resulting chord contains two half-step intervals, and is painful enough to cause grown men to weep.

What I didn't discover until last night was that the same effect can be accomplished with three guitars and one piano all playing different songs in different keys at different tempos.

"So that's why they call it a jam session!" I exclaimed as I noticed everyone walking about the house with their fingers jammed deeply into their ears.
