"Sonnet about decision making"
On The Other Hand
When I was young I saw in black and white,And answered every question no or yes;
There were no shades of gray, just wrong and right;
No need to puzzle, figure, or to guess.
But then I gained a new mentality
As quandaries of my life grew more involved;
Beyond the issues of morality,
Were things too convoluted to resolve.
So many complex questions come my way -
Conundrums that I cannot understand;
With far too many options to be weighed,
I'm always saying "On the other hand."
With all the hands I need, there'd be no harm
To have an octopus's many arms.
