Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction
The following is a piece of writing submitted by Douglas on January 2, 2008
"I've already done this writing prompt here: Diabolical and Deviously Deceptive Dodos, so I thought I'd take a slightly different approach.
Rather than focusing on a single sound, I focused on the sibilant sounds - sounds that are similar to the S sound. I also didn't concern myself too much with finding words that started with my range of sounds, but as often as not went for words that had those sounds inside or at the end of the word."

Snowflakes
Snowflakes,slowly floating,
fluttering downward,
drifting, flitting to and fro,
swept forward on wisps of frigid winds.
Fine, exquisite artistry
formed in crystals of ice,
shaped by forces unseen, unfelt;
Searching, seeking,
finding a place of rest,
framed with grass of rusty hues
in nature's ephemeral museum.
