Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction
The following is a piece of writing submitted by Douglas on July 2, 2010
"Anapestic Tetrameter flips a switch in my brain."
Mmm, Tasty!
I enjoy writing poems both deep and profound,That are heartfelt, sincere, and that gently resound.
And the poems like that are a finely spiced stew
That give warmth and nutrition to all who would chew.
But for reasons unknown, when I write anapests,
There is something that's missing, I have to confess;
They're more silly than thoughtful, and shallow as dirt,
And perhaps, one might say, they are more like dessert.
Without meat and potatoes, and lacking in greens,
They're the junk food that tops off the poet's cuisine.
