Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction
The following is a piece of writing submitted by Douglas on May 4, 2010
"The idea here is an argument between a mathematician and a poet about whether Rhyme or Reason is better. I would have liked to have done more, but it's time to go teach math now.
Maybe someday I'll write more. :D"

Rhyme or Reason
Said the poet, one day, to the Algebra prof,With a sigh and a smile and a short little cough,
"Now I do understand that reason's the key
That unlocks understanding of some mysteries,
But not all of life's puzzles are solved with a pen
And a graph, though such tools are a help now and then,
If a choice must be made between reason and rhyme,
Well, this poet would make the same choice every time;
Mathematics's a thing that brings pain to my skull,
And a life without rhyme is a life that's just dull -
Between reason and rhyme, well, the choice isn't tough;
You see, reason is never quite reason enough."
