Grab Bag Proverbs

I clicked Grab Bag to get three words to include in my proverbs. I italicized the grab bag words, so you'll know what words I was given.

With judicious use of the hickory stick
Will emerge biceps on the user
And character in the recipient.

Like a world wrapped in frost
Is a life lacking fond affection.

As shingles cover the home,
So God's love covers the widowed and orphans.

The workings of fate may be set in concrete,
But God has made them unprintable for eyes of men.

And finally, just for the sheer silliness of it:

Don't do acrobatics while wearing pumps for it will surely chafe.
