Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction

"Today I'm feeling a bit cynical, so I'm letting my cynicism out here before I go face the world and let it drip all over everyone else.
"Send the Light" is an old Christian hymn, and this is my parody. The verse I've left alone, but I've significantly altered the chorus.
The actual chorus is:
"Send the light, the blessed Gospel light;
Let it shine from shore to shore!
Send the light, the blessed Gospel light;
Let it shine forevermore!""

Send the Light
There’s a call comes ringing o'er the restless wave,"Send the light! Send the light!"
There are souls to rescue, there are souls to save,
Send the light! Send the light!
Send someone else to cross the great divide;
I'll lock my door, and hide inside.
Send someone else, to be the light for me
Here's a buck, now let me be (now let me be!)
