Cat Arrested for Misdemeanor
Curiosity may have killed the cat, but it certainly drove its owners crazy before actually accomplishing that feat. Thankfully (or not), this is one kitty that still has several of his nine lives left to live. There was a mild disturbance this afternoon around 3:30 as the resident apartment furball, affectionately dubbed "Pumpkin" made off with one of his roommates' items of summer footwear, and proceeded to inflict several disruptive teeth marks upon its surface before it could be extracted from his mouth.
Witnesses said he made a calculated move on the footwear, after it had been thought safely tucked away, even attempting to break into a backpack where it had been stored after its removal. He was forcibly removed from the scene by apartment personnel.
This is, unfortunately, the third instance of such behavior from said feline, who had formerly been indicted for a previous flip-flop misdemeanor, as well as possession of catnip without a permit. He faces a fine of up to three ounces of Fancy Feast, or three hours in the litter box if convicted.
His owner could not be reached for comment, and calls to the owner of the offended footwear were not immediately returned.
