Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction

"Oh I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it!"
Poetic Advice
While the cursor is blinking,I perhaps should be thinking
of something that's brilliant
and will really stand out -
but as it stands I am blabbing
and thus mentally stabbing
my poetic knife
in the dark, all about.
For it's best to be churning
instead of discerning -
it is better to type
than have nothing at all,
For the poem that's forming
finds birth in such storming,
and will stay in your head
if you let the thing stall.
Now, don't misunderstand,
I think thinking is grand,
and there would be no poems
without such good thoughts -
But you'll find, my young poets,
that just because you know it,
doesn't mean it will be there
when it's later besought.
