Always

To win your heart is not my goal
And never should it be.
For what is love if it is won?
Is that not another thing?
To put a price on your heart?
And make your love a prize to earn?
No.
I will not strive for such.
For love is not a thing
That can be measured monetarily.
So, I will not try to win your heart.
I will but know that deep down inside,
That if, I am good enough to be loved
By the one above, am I not
Good enough for you and me?
So therefore now I know;
That of your love, your heart:
I myself have been worthy.
