Fate of all Toys
The purple color catches my eyeIt sits so innocently
I can't believe I didn't see
That it would make such noise
I bought it to bring joy
And to entertain
But now it is simply
Driving me insane
The noise comes out
The screeching pandemonium
Of a toy once played with
That has now been passed off
For something newer and shinier
It looks so lonely
I go and pick it up
This poor, sad monkey toy
That clasps its hands
In mock prayer
I shove it into the closet
With all of the other poor,
Downcast toys
Then I go and forget about it too
Like all other playthings
