Stars

The stars came out to dance last night, I thought you'd like to know
They came out one by one until the whole sky was aglow
They twinkled softly down at me and in their shining glory
displayed the heroes of the past, figures of old history

Orion in his jeweled belt, the Great Bear, Leo, Taurus
all the figures of before now looking down upon us
reminders of our ancient days and long lost people's deeds
Also hopeful of the future, like some tiny glowing seeds

Someday we'll send some ships up there to travel in those spaces
discovering new lands and worlds, befriending brand new races
learning their names for the stars, learning their history
but the stars will keep on dancing in an ever sparkling, ever twinkling, ever shining, ever glowing, never ever ending magic story
