Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction

The following is a piece of writing submitted by KC Rell on March 12, 2009
"This was inspired by a lot of songs. And because this is mostly me, partly not, and some people. And not the people that just like to get attention, the *real* people who feel this way."
Broken
Don’t make me cry, I can’t take anymore.Don’t make fun of me; I’m nothing to laugh at.
Turn away, I don't need you.
I’m broken, but I can deal.
Don’t talk behind my back, I’m sick of it.
Don’t think you’re better than me; I’m too used to it.
Just turn away, I don’t need you.
I’m broken, but I'm real.
Don’t mistake me for being selfish, I’m not.
Don’t say I’m mad at the world, I’m not.
Don’t say I hate everyone, I don’t.
I’m broken, but I can still feel.
You always say I don’t love anyone—I do.
You’re always putting me down—don’t.
I may be broken, but I can heal.
