Paper Girl
There's a picture of a girl on my wall. She said I have to be perfect.
How can I be perfect
When I am flesh and bone,
Not paper, plastic or perfume.
She said I should lose weight,
Said my arms aren't thin enough.
Somebody destroy this paper girl.
What does she know of my world?
She's a cutout, an expression.
A huge impression
On the millions of real girls
who turn their beauty plastic.
Remember,
It's not murder to burn paper.
But it is murder when a beautiful girl burns herself,
because she was told she should be perfect.
