Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction
The following is a piece of writing submitted by Milton on October 30, 2007
"This doesn't exactly fit the writing prompt, because it's just one side of a dialogue in which the guy DOESN'T say that he's lost his job."
Leave Me Alone
Don't talk to me. I mean it. Leave me alone. I've had a really bad day.No, I'm not hungry. No, I don't want a hot fudge sundae. I just want to sit in my chair and watch TV. Can't you understand that?
No, nothing's wrong. I'm just not feeling all that well today. Long day at work. Can we not talk about it, please?
I'll listen to the television as loud as I want. Not like you have anything better to listen to. Just shut up and leave me alone.
Can you do something about the kids? They're bothering me. I don't know. Send them to their room. Tell them to go outside.
I'm going to be sick.
